Fleet review

Captain Miguel María Grau Seminario (1834-1879, KIA), promoted to Grand Admiral of Peru posthumously, was the Commander of the Peruvian fleet at the beginning of the War of the Pacific (1879-1884). He is one of South Americas best known war heroes and you´ll find a street or building named after him in every Peruvian city, town and probably also even in the most remote village. The statue seen in the photo stands in Tortugas, a small fisher/ touristic village located south of Chimbote.
